All for One. One for all!

Big turnout at Mills CNC’s ‘THE ONE SHOW’ Technology Event demonstrates the universal appeal, growing interest and pulling power of one-hit machining.

Mills CNC has reported that ‘The One Show,’ the company’s recently held one-hit machining technology event held at its Campus facility in Leamington in October (15th and 16th), was a roaring success.

Over 180 visitors attended the event where two new DN Solutions’ multi-tasking/multi-axis machine tools made their UK debuts and shared top billing.

The machines, a DVF 5000 Mk II simultaneous 5-axis machining centre and the ‘entry-level’ DNX 2100SB multi-axis mill-turn machine, both resplendent in their new, eye-catching silver, space-age livery, captured visitors’ imaginations and were showcased, adjacent to one another, undertaking challenging machining demonstrations designed to show-off their power, speed, precision, flexibility and one-hit machining capabilities.

In addition to the machining demonstrations, two in-depth technical presentations (one on each machine sandwiched in-between CEO, Tony Dale’s welcome and introduction, and closing remarks), were delivered by Mills CNC pre-sales engineers, enabling visitors to get ‘under the skin’ of the new machines and understand and appreciate how and why the DNX 2100SB and DVF 5000 Mk II could make a real (positive) difference to the performance and profitability of their respective machine shops.

The decision by Mills to move away from a traditional Open House-type event in favour of one that had a definite theme and focus proved popular and, judging by the number of visitors attending the Show and from visitor feedback gained after the event, struck the right note.

Says Tony Dale: “We wanted to do something different, like no-one else if you like, and, as a consequence, decided to host an event relevant to the future productivity and process efficiency needs of UK and Irish component manufacturers.

“We focused the whole event around one-hit machining and gave the DNX 2100SB and DVF 5000 MK II machines pride of place at the Show.”

Rather than being entirely focused on the two new machines, other more established and familiar DN Solutions’ multi-tasking lathes and multi-axis machining centres, as well as a high-productivity SYNERGi automated manufacturing cell, were also showcased and helped reinforce (to event visitors) the depth and breadth of Mills’ machine tool and automation systems’ product portfolio, and its one-hit machining technical expertise and prowess.

Concludes Tony Dale: “The One Show was a bit of a departure for us, but it has definitely paid off.

“A number of enquiries for the new DNX 2100SB and DVF 5000 Mk II are being actively followed up as we speak.”
