Growing number of international exhibitors and industrial associations involved
LASYS has become established as the trade fair for laser material processing and is making an impression with continuously increasing numbers of international exhibitors, industrial associations and institutions. The forthcoming event from 5 to 7 June 2018 will also prove that exhibitors and visitors alike are impressed by the concept of the trade fair in Stuttgart. “With the previous LASYS events and the initiative ‘Lasys meets…‘, we managed to successfully position the trade fair for laser material processing both in Germany and abroad,” said Gunnar Mey, head of the Industry Department at Messe Stuttgart. This is indicated by the growing number of new international exhibitors. They include Optoprim, a supplier and distributor of selected optical components and systems, which represents more than 20 manufacturers from different countries and will take part in LASYS for the first time in 2018.
Andreas Röhrl, sales director at Optoprim, explains: “For me, as a long-term market participant and visitor, LASYS has been an interesting event ever since its première in 2008. Now, in my capacity as the responsible head of Optoprim Germany GmbH, it was therefore quickly clear to me and my team that we should be personally represented this time and present our company as a co-exhibitor to our international suppliers at the trade fair. In addition to components for applications in laser marking and laser micro processing, high-performance lasers from nLight and laser process heads from the manufacturer Laser Mechanisms will be a focal point on our exhibition stand. System integrators and OEM customers, who are traditionally very well-represented as trade visitors at LASYS, are generally an important target group for us and our co-exhibitors”.
Univet from Italy will also exhibit at LASYS for the first time. Marco Paletti, laser product manager, Univet srl, says: “We want to extend our market position in the areas of laser protection, safety goggles and filters. LASYS is therefore the ideal place to present our products. We expect to forge new contacts because we are convinced that visitors will appreciate our technology, our design and our service. We are also looking forward to meeting other manufacturers and system integrators who, just like us, regard LASYS as the leading trade fair in the industrial lasers sector.”
Dagmar Smrčinová, marketing manager at Czech company 4ISP s.r.o., says that the exhibited machines are one reason why her company is taking part in LASYS for the first time: “LASYS presents a special range of machines in action. We cannot afford to miss this. What’s better than seeing a machine in operation at a trade fair? Nothing! The Internet is full of catalogues, photos and beautiful words, but the right machines in action? You want to experience them live.”
LASYS is also highly regarded by international industrial associations. For example, “Photonics Finland“ is supporting a joint exhibition area for Finnish companies at LASYS 2018, while the Spanish industrial association Southern European Cluster in Photonics and Optics (SECPho) is planning a pavilion for its members. There will also be a joint delegation from the Netherlands.
Haiming Zhou, general director of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) – Machinery Sub-Council (MSC) and responsible for representing LASYS in the Chinese market, emphasises: “We support trade fairs in the optics industry worldwide. The concept of LASYS with its focus on laser systems convinces Chinese providers. This is also shown by the participation of renowned companies such as Foshan Beyond Laser Technology, Guangzhou CK Laser or Chengdu Dongjun Laser as exhibitors at the upcoming LASYS.”
Previous partners such as the “Laser Institute of America” (LIA) are remaining loyal to LASYS. Marketing director Jim Naugle says: “The Laser Institute of America is proud to have supported LASYS right from the start in 2008. The leading international trade fair focuses on the use of lasers in industrial production, a fact which attracts laser enthusiasts ranging from beginners through to scientists. LASYS is the ideal platform for the industry and our members.”
The European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC) is also involved in the joint organisation of the accompanying programme and invites people to attend the “EPIC Meeting on lasers and material processing at LASYS” on 7 June 2018.
