Aberlink at MACH 2026

Published:

With a proven history in CMM design and innovation, Aberlink will exhibit many new metrology products at MACH this year.

The award-winning Axiom CMM will be fitted with the fully automatic indexing RTP20 touch probe and Aberlink’s latest version of its CCD Camera system and CNC collimated lightbox. Chris Davies of Aberlink said: “The Axiom has been hugely successful in offering our customers a fantastic value-for-money Cartesian CMM since its first launch in 1995. The Axiom CMM, using the Aberlink 3D CMM software, is the easiest-to-use CMM of any internationally recognised brand. Fitted with the RTP20 and CCD Camera system, you can easily switch between contact and non-contact measurement in seconds – it really is the Swiss Army knife of the CMM world.”  Aberlink invites visitors to bring parts for a live demonstration on their stand (No. 19-738).

Aberlink will show the latest version of its highly acclaimed MK4 software (version 4.24). It will be officially available for Aberlink customers to download free of charge from the website on 1st May. Customers are invited to visit the Aberlink stand (19-738) to see the new programming tools, faster and more flexible dimensioning and reporting workflows, and powerful new probe management features. From clearer program editing and smarter feature organisation, to cleaner reports and effortless probe mapping on rotated inspections, Aberlink3D 4.24 helps operators work more efficiently and with greater confidence.

Aberlink will exhibit the Halo CNC CMM, a belt-drive version of the state-of-the-art Horizon CNC CMM. The Halo fills an important gap in Aberlink’s price-to-performance CMM portfolio. It will be demonstrated with PolyWorks|Inspector software (with native integration on a Deva controller). This provides customers with access to powerful scanning workflows, native CAD functionality, and access to collaborative data management through PolyWorks|DataLoop. PolyWorks also supports non-contact laser measurement, and Aberlink has partnered with Kreon to offer a complete multi-sensor solution. Chris Davies explains: “Feedback from our UK and international customers highlighted a growing demand for high-end scanning and CAD-based inspection workflows on our mid-sized Cartesian CMM portfolio. Supporting PolyWorks|Inspector alongside Aberlink’s own software gives customers greater flexibility, while integration with the Kreon Zephyr 3 laser scanner enables powerful non-contact measurement capability. The Halo CMM combined with PolyWorks and laser scanning creates a very capable mid-sized CMM solution that we expect will be popular with domestic customers and our international distributor network in over forty countries.”

The Fulcrum manual CMM has moved on significantly since its launch at MACH 2022. Now named Measur3D, it can be used with styli as small as 1 mm diameter, enabling complex parts with small features to be measured in a single setup. The new automatic ‘touchpoint’ and ‘scanning’ data capture modes, used in conjunction with Aberlink’s ‘feature predict’ function, make manual CMM inspection as easy as it can be. Chris Davies says:  “The introduction of the 1 mm stylus option and automatic touchpoint and scanning mode detection has further improved the Measur3D as a true ‘jump-on’ manual CMM for the shop floor. Scanning free-form surfaces and comparing the digitised surface to CAD has proven very popular, which is why we offer Measur3D customers a six-month trial of our CAD Comparison software completely free of charge. The CMM software interface has also been further improved so that people with no previous CMM experience can quickly start measuring parts with minimal training.” The Measur3D also comes with a 36-month warranty as standard.

With the rise of Industry 5.0, Aberlink will demonstrate its Extol 370 CNC CMM being automatically loaded with parts by an Aberlink-branded robot. Parts can be loaded, inspected, segregated into good or bad components, and tool offset corrections automatically sent back to a CNC control. Chris Davies again: “With the rapid rise of Industry 5.0 and the increasing use of digital twins for entire manufacturing processes, unmanned closed-loop CMM inspection within manufacturing environments is becoming essential. Our automation interface and automatic tool offset correction option enable us to compete in this arena with a fantastic offering. Fully automatic temperature compensation also allows the Extol shop-floor CMM to withstand significant temperature changes while maintaining excellent absolute metrology performance.”

Lastly, Aberlink is developing a gear measurement software package and is currently in discussion with its gear manufacturing customers to better understand their requirements. If you are a gear manufacturer, please visit the Aberlink stand to see the software developed so far and discuss your needs. This feedback will help shape future product development.

When you buy an Aberlink CMM, you own it. Aberlink actively opposes subscription models where customers are forced to subscribe to software maintenance or hardware service contracts. When you purchase an Aberlink CMM you are automatically entitled to free software upgrades for the life of that machine. The latest version of the Aberlink software is available to download from the website completely free of charge.

In the two years since their last MACH participation, Aberlink’s in-house CMM software development has been relentless. Existing and prospective customers are invited to visit the Aberlink stand (No. 19-738) to see the new functionality within the latest release (version 4.24).

As has become the norm with Aberlink, there will be plenty to see on their stand at MACH this year, so make sure to give yourself enough time to drop by and speak with the Aberlink team.
