Published:

On the MACH 2026 stand of Leader Chuck International [Stand 18-2], visitors can find a whole spectrum of equipment and ancillaries that has been developed to support any manufacturing workshops goals of improving productivity and enhancing efficiency. With a wealth of knowledge and experience, the company’s staff will be on hand to demonstrate the various ranges on show. These include:

Hainbuch: “The Need for Speed” captures the idea behind HAINBUCH’s centroteX quick-change system; a comprehensive solution built around a universal machine adapter and an interchangeable range of clamping devices. Stand visitors can find out about dramatic reductions in clamping device change-over times while maintaining the accuracy between machine adapter and clamping device adapter ≤ 0,003 mm – without alignment.

HPCHO: A range of KPS polygonal shank modular toolholder interfaces. These ISO 26623-1 certified holders feature a trilobed shank that offer complete compatibility with the renowned Sandvik Capto interface. The modular tool holding system is designed to provide rigidity and accuracy – within 2 microns - while minimising set up times for users of turning centres relying on driven tools as well as mill-turn applications using machines such as Mazak, DMG Mori, Doosan, Okuma, and Haas.

The stability of the three-sided polygon design is well established, and the polygon taper ensures automatic radial centring and even pressure applied around the coupling interface. Leader Chuck’s Managing Director, Mark Jones, explains: “The polygon design also provides torque transmission from the machine tool spindle to the cutting tool without the need for keyways. While a BT holder, for example, has a keyway at the flange that transmits torque, because of the polygonal shank a HPCHO toolholder cannot turn inside a spindle, so the whole transferrable torque of the spindle is spread over the entire taper of the holder.” Case hardened to 58 HRc with a superfine ground surface finish on the polygon of Ra 0.3 micron, HPCHO offers the range in six sizes: KP3 (32 mm diameter flange), KP4 (40 mm), KP5 (50 mm), KP6 (63 mm), KP8 (80 mm) and KP10 with a 100 mm diameter flange. Each one is balanced to 6.3G at 20,000 rpm.

Lehmann: Swiss manufacturer pL LEHMANN manufactures compact, high precision CNC rotary tables. Its products offer not only a wide variety of workpiece clamping options, but also maximum use of the machine tools working envelope and travels. With just four basic sizes of rotary tables covering from 100 to 500 mm diameter, LEHMANN cover the performance range required by most machine shops. Rotational speeds up to 210 rpm provide a 90° index in just 0.21 seconds. A feed torque of up to 750 Nm combined with heavy duty bearing allow high spindle loads for aggressive cutting strategies. As Mark Jones says: “These compact, innovative CNC rotary tables are designed to meet the needs for economical production of very small to medium-sized workpieces in the machining industry. By minimising the footprint needed to fit the rotary unit on the machine’s worktable the machine can be set up and ready to run, whereby typical 3-axis machining operations can be conducted on one end of the worktable while the fourth-axis rotary unit remains fixed on the other.”

Lexair: Designed for use on both vertical and horizontal machining centres, the LEXAIR Tri-Grip collet closer maximises raw material loading capacity on virtually any machining centre.

Featuring a compact design with three closers integrated into a single body, the Tri-Grip unit simplifies hydraulic plumbing while an easily accessible, top-mounted collet locking screw allows accurate part orientation. With a maximum working pressure of 5,000 psi and a drawtube force of 1.1 times the applied pressure, the system delivers reliable gripping force to meet a wide range of workholding requirements. The double-acting, fixed-length design maintains consistent part height from component to component, and multiple Tri-Grip units can be combined in different fixture configurations using connector bushings. This approach removes the need for external pipework between units, simplifying installation and setup. Mark Jones explains: “Using the popular 5C collet, the compact Tri-Grip units can be arranged in grid patterns to increase the loading density of a machining centre’s worktable. For vertical machining centres, the units can be mounted on a plate fitted directly to the machine table, while for horizontal machining centres they can be installed on a cube or tombstone, providing a flexible and highly efficient workholding solution.”

Mate Precision Technologies: The next generation Dyno range, consisting of DynoGrip vices, DynoLock base plates, and DynoMount pyramids and tombstones, will be on show for visitors. Extensive trials of competitor zero-point systems, under real life production operations highlighted several limitations that have been addressed by these new products from MATE.

Available in 13 sizes, MATE DynoGrip self-centring vices are engineered to shorten setup time and reduce process variability through quick change jaws, better gripping force, and higher part precision. Two zero-point four-stud engagement patterns are offered, 52 mm and 96 mm, that are compatible with other systems or can be mounted directly to the machine table via toe clamps or bolted through the body.

With 11 size and shape variants there is a DynoLock base to suit any machining application. These quick-change workholding bases are the foundation of the workholding system and the key to superior productivity. The product mounts to the machine bed, tombstone, pyramid or riser, and offers best-in-class accuracy and repeatability with a superior holding force. For increased volume production applications and higher part loading density, DynoMount three- and four-sided tombstones are available for use with MATE DynoLock 52 and 96 bases. Using a chambered design for weight reduction, MATE tombstones also include a hoist ring lift connection for easy loading and unloading. Like the rest of the Dyno range, they feature MATE’s QuickSpecs 2D bar code tag for real-time access to full product specifications, CAD files and potential integration into your business systems.

Alongside this, direct-to-table mounting, and custom mounting bores are available. They are also compatible with some competitor workholding bases when used with applicable bushings and hardware.

PiranhaClamp: The 100 per cent Swiss manufactured Cooling Line range from PIRANHA CLAMP offers several performance advantages for machine shops relying on the uninterrupted supply of coolant during prismatic and turning operations. The PIRANHA Cooling Line is a unique and versatile system for precise coolant supply. Manufactured from high-strength anodized aluminium, it withstands intense pressures of up to 80 bar (1,160 psi) and can be installed on all common tool holders and CNC machines using the company’s threaded connectors. Most milling, turning and grinding applications can be easily catered for as the PIRANHA Cooling Line is available in two standard sizes, ¼ inch and ½ inch, and in customised bespoke sizes. The plated lightweight aluminium elements of the system are flexible and versatile with comprehensive starter kits providing everything needed for most standard machine installations.

RotoRi: This range of chuck jaw boring rings can precisely support the ‘truing’ of jaws fitted to manual or power chucks. ROTORI sets have been specifically designed to be used to bore, turn or grind jaws very accurately under a clamping pressure that reflects that required to hold the workpiece. Available in seven standard sets designed to match the diameter range of the machine tools on the shopfloor as well as the types of chucks used, these multiple-patented innovative ring sets allow precise machining of the jaws thanks to the complete adjustability of the segments. Creating perfectly concentric bores on hard or soft jaws, the RotoRi boring rings allow fine adjustments for fine skimming of the jaws, so only the minimum amount of material from the jaw face ever needs to be removed maximising the life of the jaws. As they can be through bored in one operation it results in better T.I.R (total indicated run out) for any subsequently machined parts. The patented curved segments support easy readjustment of the clamping diameter which saves both time and tool costs.

Tecnologie FRB: Thanks to the introduction of face drivers, turning and grinding processes have undergone several innovative improvements that have resulted in shorter cycle times for many workshops. The driver acts directly on the end of the workpiece, so the cutting tool or abrasive wheel has increased access to the whole part. With none of the raw material being held in a chuck or similar device it is often possible to finish parts in one hit, minimising any potential datum errors from repositioning for second operations. TECNOLOGIE FRB designs and manufactures live centres and face drivers for turning, gear cutting, and grinding applications. The company has built an enviable global reputation in this sector and visitors to the stand can find out more from Leader Chuck’s knowledgeable staff.

Walmag: Offering a wide portfolio of magnetic fixturing systems, WALMAG MAGNETICS manufactures permanent magnet, electromagnetic and electro-permanent solutions for a wide range of machining processes, including grinding, turning, drilling and milling, as well as wire and die-sinking EDM. “Fixing the workpiece on a magnetised chuck allows easy access to five faces for the machine tool, making it an effective method of holding raw material for simultaneous 5-axis or 3+2 positional milling operations,” Mark Jones concludes.
