FC Laser unveils £2m investment programme

Published:

A major £2 million investment program by FC Laser Ltd is set to create around 20 new jobs and position the Derbyshire based manufacturer among the most technologically advanced fabrication businesses in the region.

Operating from its state-of-the-art facility in Stanton by Dale, FC Laser has embarked on a significant expansion strategy that includes the installation of some of the most advanced manufacturing equipment available in the industry today, reinforcing the company’s ambition to deliver a complete end-to-end manufacturing solution for its growing customer base.

The investment includes:

  • Fully automated Gema powder coating line
  • TRUMPF TruPunch 3000
  • TRUMPF TruBend 8400 press brake
  • Salvagnini P2 panel bender

Together, the new technology represents far more than a machinery upgrade. It marks the next phase in FC Laser’s long-term vision of creating a fully integrated manufacturing ecosystem, one capable of taking a customer project from concept and design through to manufacturing, assembly, packing, and fulfillment.

In simple terms, the goal is clear: customers can place an order and never have to touch it again.

Building the Manufacturing Partner of the Future

In addition to its latest investment program, FC Laser continues to strengthen its position as a complete manufacturing partner through a broad range of in house capabilities designed to support customers at every stage of production.

The company offers fully automated flat laser cutting capabilities of up to 6 metres in length, alongside full tube and box section laser cutting services, enabling the manufacture of everything from precision sheet metal components to complex structural assemblies.

Supporting these operations is a comprehensive fabrication, welding, and assembly division capable of delivering fully finished products ready for end use.

FC Laser also provides both fully automated and manual powder coating services, allowing greater flexibility across high-volume production runs and low-volume specialist finishing requirements.

The company has CNC folding capability of up to 6 metres in length, supplemented  with advanced automated panel bending technology, enabling the efficient production of large-format and highly complex fabricated components with exceptional consistency and accuracy.

Further enhancing production capability is a state of the art punching and forming machine, helping customers achieve faster turnaround times and greater manufacturing flexibility across a wide variety of sectors and applications.

Beyond manufacturing, FC Laser supports customers through its in-house design capability, working collaboratively from concept development and prototyping through to full production.

To complete the process, the business also offers total fulfilment solutions across the UK, allowing customers to streamline logistics, reduce supplier complexity, and benefit from a fully integrated manufacturing and delivery partner.

For many manufacturers, outsourcing can often involve dealing with multiple suppliers across different stages of production, from design to fabrication and finishing through to assembly and logistics.

FC Laser is aiming to change that.

The company’s £2 million investment program has been carefully designed to streamline the entire manufacturing process under one roof, giving customers a single trusted partner capable of managing every stage of production.

From initial design support and prototyping to laser cutting, punching, bending, fabrication, powder coating, assembly, and final fulfilment, FC Laser is building a manufacturing model focused on efficiency, quality, and simplicity.

The result is a fully integrated service that reduces lead times, improves quality control, simplifies supply chains, and allows customers to focus on growing their own businesses.

Advanced Technology Driving Growth

At the centre of the expansion program is a significant investment in World class automation and precision engineering technology.

The new TRUMPF TruPunch 3000 brings high-speed punching, forming, and processing capabilities to the business, increasing production efficiency while allowing FC Laser to handle increasingly complex component requirements.

Alongside this, the installation of the TRUMPF TruBend 8400 dramatically expands the company’s heavy-duty bending capabilities, enabling the production of larger, more complex fabricated parts with exceptional accuracy and repeatability.

The Salvagnini P2 panel bender further strengthens FC Laser’s automation capability, offering rapid, highly flexible panel bending without the need for manual retooling, ideal for modern high mix manufacturing environments where flexibility and speed are critical.

Completing the investment is a new automated Gema powder coating line, bringing high quality finishing operations fully in house and giving customers access to a faster, more controlled, and highly consistent finishing process.

Collectively, the new equipment significantly increases manufacturing capability and capacity while also improving production flow, repeatability, and turnaround times.

Creating Jobs and Investing in Skills

The expansion is also expected to create around 20 new jobs across a range of manufacturing and technical disciplines including:

  • Operations Management
  • Production Operatives
  • Sales Account Management
  • Business Development

As the business grows, FC Laser expects to recruit across production, engineering, assembly, logistics, programming, and support roles, further strengthening its workforce and supporting the local economy in Derbyshire.

The investment reflects not only confidence in the future of the business, but confidence in UK manufacturing more broadly.

At a time when many companies are looking for reliable, high quality British supply chain partners, FC Laser is positioning itself as a business capable of supporting customers with scalable, technologically advanced manufacturing solutions delivered entirely from the UK.

Commitment to Customers

For FC Laser, the expansion is ultimately about delivering greater value to customers.

Manufacturing demands are evolving rapidly. Customers increasingly require shorter lead times, more flexibility, greater quality assurance, and partners who can scale alongside their businesses.

By investing heavily in automation, advanced machinery, and integrated manufacturing processes, FC Laser is ensuring it can continue meeting those demands long into the future.

The company’s ability to offer design, manufacturing, assembly, finishing, and fulfillment under one roof provides customers with a level of simplicity and operational efficiency that few manufacturers can match.

Rather than managing multiple suppliers, transport stages, and production handovers, customers can work with a single manufacturing partner capable of delivering complete turnkey solutions from start to finish.

A Vision Becoming Reality

What began as a laser cutting and fabrication business has evolved into something much larger; a modern manufacturing operation built around technology, integration, and customer partnership.

The £2 million investment program represents the clearest statement yet of FC Laser’s ambitions.

With advanced automation, increased production capability, and a growing workforce, the Stanton by Dale manufacturer is building a business designed not only for today’s manufacturing landscape, but for the future of British industry.

And at the heart of that vision is a simple but powerful idea:
