From sawing to automated material flow, KASTO will demonstrate how modern CNC sawing technology, automated storage and intelligent material handling can improve productivity. Visitors to the company’s stand will be able to explore solutions ranging from versatile standalone saws and the latest KASTO ProControl to automated material supply and downstream handling.
Emilio Lens, managing director of KASTO Ltd said, “We are really looking forward to UK Metals Expo. For us, it is one of the most important meeting points for the industry. It brings the entire metals supply chain together with engineering, manufacturing and construction and that is exactly what makes the event so valuable.
“We meet many of our customers there, including companies exhibiting at the show themselves, as well as familiar faces and new contacts. Nothing replaces a good face-to-face conversation, so we are especially looking forward to the personal exchange. Everyone is warmly invited to come and see us at on Stand D42. We are looking forward to showing our latest developments and talking through the new solutions in person.”
One of them will be the new-generation KASTOssb vertical bandsaw with electromechanical saw feed. The hydraulics operate only when required instead of running continuously, reducing energy consumption and noise. The new series combines a compact design with high cutting performance. For the UK market, the machine is particularly relevant for companies processing high-performance materials such as nickel alloys and other difficult-to-cut materials. The saw is suitable for use with carbide-tipped blades and cuts diameters up to 260 mm.
Within the manufacturer’s portfolio, the KASTOwin horizontal bandsaw series is designed for automatic production across changing batch sizes. For high-output industrial applications involving larger cross sections and difficult-to-cut materials, the KASTOtec range provides another option. At UK Metals Expo, visitors will also be able to see a KASTOwin 4.6 demonstrated on the stand.
The new KASTO ProControl generation has been developed to make daily machine operation more intuitive, transparent and efficient. A clearly structured dashboard provides operators with an immediate overview of machine status, while the new Simple Mode offers straightforward guidance for less experienced users. Diagnostic and analysis functions help operators identify faults more quickly and reduce downtime.

The new ProControl system, here seen fitted to the KASTOssb, allows simultaneous access to various control and information screens while sawing is in progress.
KASTO will also be promoting automated production lines comprising storage systems, material handling, sawing, robotics and software, all combined to create a coordinated material flow, from raw material storage and automatic saw feeding through cutting to downstream processing and order picking. The new KASTOcenter compact sawing centre demonstrates how far this integration can go. The concept brings together an automated tower storage system, robot-assisted material handling, sawing and optional downstream processing within a compact footprint.

KASTOcenter compact combines storage, sawing, material handling and part removal in a seamless material flow within a small footprint.
Rather than automation being an all-or-nothing decision, KASTO can support different levels of integration, from a standalone saw with automatic feeding, through a saw connected to an automated tower storage system, to a fully interconnected solution incorporating handling, processing, marking and storage. The result is scalable automation that can grow with production requirements.
