'Empowered innovation' drives strong enquiries for Mazak at EMO 2025

Published: | News

Yamazaki Mazak has recorded a high level of interest from customers in its new manufacturing technologies, delivering a strong EMO 2025 for the company.

The manufacturer recorded robust enquiries at the show, particularly from the subcontract market, by focusing on 'empowering innovation' through a combination of new product launches, automation, digital integration and smart solutions for optimising production lines.

Mazak reinforced its long-standing global manufacturing strategy of being close to the customer by showcasing products from its international network of factories, including those in the EU, Japan, Singapore, India and China. This emphasised the company's ability to deliver responsive, localised solutions across key markets while maintaining the high standards expected by its customers.

From the 20 machines on display, visitors were particularly drawn to the entry-level and productivity-enhancing solutions, including the next generation of Mazak's highly popular UK-designed and manufactured CV5 5-axis machining centre series.

EMO 2025 also marked the first showing of the INTEGREX j-200S NEO, which is the first INTEGREX Multi-Tasking machining centre to be manufactured outside Japan. The INTEGREX j-200S NEO is now being produced at the company's European Manufacturing Plant in Worcester (UK) and serves as the latest example of Mazak's commitment to shortening lead times for state-of-the-art machining technology in the European market.

Further product launches included a new series of 40-taper vertical machining centres, the VC-Ez IP range. The machines offer the potential for fast ROI for high-volume manufacturing applications through a combination of class-leading spindle technology, rapid speeds and intuitive machine control.

A total of 12 different automation solutions featured on the Yamazaki Mazak EMO stand. Among those making their European debuts was the Ez LOADER 125i, which was integrated with an INTEGREX i-450H Multi-Tasking machine. It is the first solution in the Ez LOADER series to feature a fully integrated industrial robot where the entire cell can be controlled via the machine controller, eliminating the need for separate operator training in robot programming software.

Several installations aimed at specific industrial applications were on show, including the European debut of the FF-400V/30L vertical machining centre, which was live-cutting components for the electric vehicle market. Also on display was Mazak's specialist gear-cutting machine, the INTEGREX i-350 NEO AG, the first in the new range of INTEGREX i-NEO Multi-Tasking machining centres designed to enhance productivity and lower emissions.

The stand was completed by an all-new Mazak Solutions Centre in the middle of the stand. This served as a hub for innovation, showcasing the company's newest developments in advanced technologies, connectivity, digitalisation and MAZATROL Smooth CNC. This included MAZATROL DX, which is a digital tool that allows manufacturers to generate quotes within minutes based on machining time and cost per part, as well as optimise cycle times to reduce raw material waste.

Richard Smith, European group managing director at Yamazaki Mazak, says: "EMO 2025 proved to be a highly successful show for Yamazaki Mazak. While we recorded strong enquiries, this year saw the stand feature our dedicated Solutions Centre for the first time and it was great to be able to spend time talking to customers, listening to their challenges and working with them on finding a solution.

"Ultimately, EMO 2025 reinforced the need for suppliers to come to the market with accessible turnkey solutions that empower customers and deliver immediate impact on productivity and profitability. Our strategy has always been to help customers become more productive, resilient and competitive and our success at this year's exhibition more than vindicates our approach."
