XYZ continues to spread the 3D message
Attendees at the XYZ Machine Tools 3D printing seminar gained a valuable insight into the potential of the HP Multi Jet Fusion technology as a production tool

Following the success of its 3D printing seminar in collaboration with HP and other specialists in the 3D printing sector

at its Burlescombe headquarters, XYZ Machine Tools has announced a second seminar at its Nuneaton Technical Centre on the 5th July. Those attending will get a detailed insight into the potential offered by the HP Multi Jet Fusion technology as a production tool.

“The first seminars in Devon were very well received and by transferring it to our Nuneaton Technical Centre hopefully more people will be able to attend to gain an insight into the benefits of 3D printing and its move from R&D and prototyping into a full production process where production of 10s of thousands of parts becomes a reality,” says Nigel Atherton, managing director, XYZ Machine Tools.

The HP Multi Jet Fusion technology allows for print on demand, eliminating the need to keep parts on the shelf and allowing kits of parts to be produced in one process, while rapid evaluation of product design reduces time to market. Parts can be combined and printed as working assemblies straight from the printer, helping to reduce cost and waste. In terms of production volumes, the HP Multi Jet Fusion can economically produce batches from one-off up to 110,000 off and HP’s aim is to raise that upper threshold to 1 million parts in the near future.

“3D printing using the HP Multi Jet Fusion technology will allow companies to design for additive manufacturing, that is for functionality of parts not just ease of manufacturing and the complexity of the component becomes irrelevant as if you can imagine it you can 3D print it.”

The seminar is scheduled to run for around two hours and includes presentations from experts in the field of 3D printing, including HP and Siemens. Space is limited, so anyone wishing to attend should register their interest by visiting www.xyzmachinetools.com and completing the online form on the home page.
